Who We Are

Frank Felsburg is a Performance Improvement Professional with Cogent Training & Consulting, which helps businesses, organizations and individuals communicate more effectively. So if someone’s an introvert, he can help them come out of their shell. If they’re an extrovert, he helps them shut up and sell.

He’s President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of American Society of Training and Development (ASTD-GPC) and Past President of Picket Post Toastmasters, an organization he’s been involved with for over 15 years. He’s also a member of Sales and Marketing Executives, International (SMEI) and the Main Line Chamber of Commerce. He spent over 20 years in the telesales industry. In that capacity, he sold and serviced an array of products, primarily to the medical industry.

A partial list of his clients includes American Water, Aurobindo, The Bryn Mawr Trust Company, Burlington County Library, Camden County College, Comcast, Gloucester County Library, Kennedy Hospital System, South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative, To Our Children’s Future With Health and Victory Asset Management.

He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Villanova University.

He has been given kudos from the likes of Jay Leno of The Tonight Show for material he presented.

He has been on a number of radio stations, including WXPN and WVUD and on CBS television. He’s been quoted by Reuters, Forbes, Business Wire, Trading Markets and Communications News.

Frank also has a speaking business called Frankly Speaking.

He’s a member of Narberth Presbyterian Church, where he’s head of the sound team, running a 32-channel sound board.

He lives with his wife and their 2 Italian Greyhounds outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He’s also a shameless Phillies baseball fan, and can often be found sitting in right-center field at "The Bank," right next to the bullpen, just off Ashburn alley.

In keeping with his philosophy to go the extra mile, he ran in (and completed) the entire New Jersey Marathon (26.2 miles), in April, 2007.

Frank is a distributor of Inscape Publishing materials, which include the DiSC® assessment.

Frank also knows many other speakers and trainers, and if he cannot deliver the necessary training to your organization, will find just the right person for the job.

"Frank, I recently attended your presentation on Effective Listening, and I was astounded by how much I learned on a subject that we all take for granted. Your demonstrations and exercises had the audience engaged and participating, and I heard lots of "buzz" about it throughout the remainder of the conference. You are covering a unique topic. As professional communicators, we should all be paying attention to your excellent message."- Pat Rocchi, Director of Marketing Communications, Teleflex Incorporated

Good listeners steer conversations toward other people’s interests. This is what a good conversationalist is. And remember, you can’t learn anything when you’re doing the talking. More than a century ago, a young woman who had dined with both William Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli explained why she preferred Disraeli: ‘When I dined with Mr. Gladstone I felt as though he was the smartest man in England. But when I dined with Mr. Disraeli, I felt as though I was the smartest woman in England.” -Harvey Mackay, “Listening is the hardest of the ‘easy’ tasks”
